Another week has tiptoed by and my birthday celebrations have continued with not one but two surprises from my lovely boyfriend Dave. He has spoiled me way too much!
Last Sunday we invited my parents and Daves parents over for a BBQ lunch. The weather forecast did not predict rain but rain it did! And we aren’t talking a little drizzle, it hammered it down to the point of having hail stones!
One consolation was that I was able to capture this stunning rainbow in the aftermath of the rain. Luckily we had bbq’d all the meat outside before it rained so we just ate our food indoors. We all had a good time nonetheless.
I very rarely drink coffee but with my early mornings on uni days (getting out of bed at 5.45am 😴) I have been treating myself to a big cup of coffee with a generous helping of this delicious chocolate cookie syrup. It certainly perks me up for my commute!
Blogging: It’s all about the Beauty Boxes
This week I was so pleased with myself as I managed to keep to my blogging schedule & posted on Tuesday and Thursday.
On Tuesday I posted my October Birchbox review. I got some great goodies in this months box and I can report that the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray is a real winner. It’s kept my hair looking and feeling fabulous. If you missed my review then check it out here: Birchbox – October 2016: The Unveiling.
On Thursday I brought to you another quick review of a beauty box but this time the second offering from QVC’s TILI Beauty Box. I have been using the Laura Gellar primer, NIOD hyaluronic complex & the Tarte mascara all week and they are indeed fabulous. My full review is here: TILI Beauty Box – Second Edition: The Unveiling.
Kat Von D: Debenhams Oxford Street
On Tuesday my boyfriend was in London for the day and found himself at a loose end on Oxford Street. Being the huge beauty addict & Kat Von D lover that I am he knew that this was the brands only make-up counter in the whole of the U.K. so decided to get me a little surprise.
He even took some photos for me for this Weekly Round-Up. He is very well trained!
As you can see the Kat Von D make-up section was heaving. Dave is not a fan of queuing but he persevered and bought me two Studded Kiss Lipsticks in the shades Cathedral and Prayer. I love them both.
I did feel thoroughly spoiled as he always goes overboard on my birthday. His birthday is in mid November & he is so difficult to buy for! If anyone has any suggestions I would be totally appreciative!
Of course with my new lipsticks I just had to test them out. The photo above is of me taking a ‘study break’ & playing with some make-up. I am wearing my new Kat Von D lipstick in the shade Prayer. It is so gorgeous. It is a deep red toned berry which has a creamy matte texture. Beautiful. I love it.
In the photo above I am wearing one of my Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks in the shade Bow N Arrow which is a lovely cool toned nude shade. On my eyes I am wearing some eyeshadows from my new purchase below.
This is a stunning eyeshadow palette from the Christmas in New York Too Faced Christmas 2016 release. I have been such an eyeshadow palette junkie recently but as soon as this was released I knew what I would be spending my Debenhams voucher card & Beauty Club Card points on. So technically I didn’t buy this eyeshadow palette.
This is my first experience with the Too Faced brand but I am super impressed. The packaging is so gorgeous and this is their Merry Macarons palette which is vanilla scented. The colours are beautiful too with a great mix of matte, subtle shimmer & chunkier glitter shades. Love it.
Thanks for reading and I hope you have enjoyed my Weekly Round-Up. Have you tried any of the products mentioned? So you have any recommendations for me? I love reading and replying to your comments.
