Kat Von D Haul: Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks Bow N Arrow, Bauhau5, Vampira, Studded Kiss Lipstick in Mercy, Metal Crush Eyeshadow in Thrasher, Shade and Light Eye Brush – Review and Swatches

It’s finally here! Kat Von D make-up has hit the UK and I couldn’t be happier. I was so excited that I stayed up and put my order in at 1am on the 13th when it launched at Debenhams online as I was sure it would sell out (it didn’t).

Debenhams have launched 24 products from Kat Von D but the Serpentina palette I was hoping for wasn’t one of them! However if you read my Weekly Round-Up then you will have got a sneak peak at just how great my boyfriend is…. More to come soon!

I have loved Kat Von D for a long time, following her career since the Miami and LA Ink days. I have always been fascinated by how she wears her own make-up and have been so excited about the UK launch of her make-up line for a long, long time. So what did I get??

Shade & Light Eye Brush

I have really upped my eyeshadow game recently by experimenting and growing in confidence so I just had to add to my brush collection.

The Shade & Light eye brush is presented in this glossy black gothic coffin inspired case. I love this detail as it will ensure the brush stays clean in its case.

This brush set me back £23 which is my most expensive brush to date…

However this brush is amazing quality. It is so so soft and it’s double ended – so really you are getting two brushes for the price of one! Right?!

On one end is a tapered brush perfect for precision and placing eyeshadow exactly where you want it to be. The other end has a super soft brush perfect for blending and buffing out any harsh lines to finish off your eye look. I cannot wait to use this brush!

As an extra gift I also received this free mini Tattoo Liner. I already have a mini one from my London Calling set but it’s always nice to have a back up! If you missed my London Calling review then click the link: Kat Von D – London Calling.

Studded Kiss Lipstick: Mercy

First of all this wasn’t the actual shade of lipstick that I ordered. I ordered the deeper matte shade Motorhead however when the lipstick arrived I realised something was wrong as when I put it on my lips it had a shimmer to it. There was an issue between order & despatch with the shade. So after two phone calls with Debenhams customer support and lots of persuasion they will be sending me out the correct shade free of charge & I can keep Mercy. Thankyou.

Mercy is a lovely colour nonetheless. All of the Studded Kiss Lipsticks have a delicate creme brulee scent which fades once on the lips. I also love the sleek glossy black packaging – I can’t wait to add to my collection!

As you can see from the swatch Mercy is a deep plum colour which is shot through with a subtle shimmer. It is pretty but I am looking forward to having Motorhead in my life!

Metal Crush Eyeshadow: Thrasher

I just had to buy an eyeshadow and as Serpentina wasn’t part of the launch Thrasher was the next best thing.

As you can see from the swatch above Thrasher is super pigmented eyeshadow in a stunning bright yellow gold with almost a green undertone. This will look stunning with my hazel eye colour. I was impressed with how soft and blendable the eyeshadow is and cannot wait to give it a try.

Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks: Vampira, Bauhau5 & Bow N Arrow

The Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks were what I was most excited about and I just couldn’t choose one… so three made their way into my basket.

The formula is so smooth and applies super opaque in just one swipe. The doe foot applicator is great for precision as you can both line and fill in your lips perfectly. I absolutely love the slim tube which looks sleek with the matte black and silver top and detailing. Perfect.

Swatches L – R: Bow N Arrow, Bauhau5, Vampira

I have fallen in love with the beautiful blue-toned raspberry pink shade Bauhau5. I think the colour compliments my skin nicely and adds a bold pop of colour – perfect to take me through from Summer to Autumn. Love it.

I am still on the fence with this shade. Vampira is a deep, deep blood red with dark brown tones. It is a lovely colour but I’m not sure it’s the most suited to me. The deep colour needs careful application as I have found it can look patchy.

Bow N Arrow

I am so glad I picked this up. Bow N Arrow is a beautiful soft nude shade which is a great combination of taupe and caramel tones with a hint of pink. I think this will be my new every day shade for university!

Thanks for reading. I hope you have enjoyed my haul and mini review. Have you tried anything from Kat Von D? Do you have any recommendations? I love reading and replying to your comments.
