Another week has flashed by and what a week it has been for the UK. We had the opportunity to vote in the EU referendum on Thursday and I voted proudly to remain and woke up in utter utter shock with the 52%-48% result to leave the EU…. I spent Friday in an utter daze, feeling empty, confused and shocked. We do live in a democracy so I have accepted that we will be leaving the EU and a very uncertain & challenging time lies ahead.
In light of this gloomy news it does seem somewhat frivolous to blog about beauty & make-up but blogging has been a welcome escape from politics and the future of the UK this week.
On Tuesday I blogged about My Holiday Beauty Essentials. These were the products I used whilst on my holiday in North Wales.
On Thursday I also managed to receive my June Nailbox, open it, swatch the products and write my unveiling post all in a matter of a couple of hours!
Check it out here – Nailbox June 2016: The Unveiling.
Beauty: Make-Up & Garden Blooms
I really enjoyed rocking this make-up look this week. I’ve been loving a bright pink lip – Firebird from the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani range being my bright pink lip of choice. Stunning.
I think I have been gravitating towards the bright fuschia pinks because I’ve been inspired by the beautiful blooms in my garden.
Stunning pink foxglove which is gloriously in bloom & standing tall in my garden.
A selection of beautiful pink & lilac flowers which make me smile.
On Wednesday evening we made our way to Essex to watch my best friend in a play – she was fabulous as always. On our way down we stopped off at Prezzo for some dinner. I ordered the chicken & asparagus risotto which was delicious. Recently I’ve been re-introducing some cheese back into my diet and it seems that a limited amount of dairy is ok.
I just couldn’t resist dessert and devoured the caramel & banana tiramisu which was a new edition to the menu. It was tasty, especially the caramel but the banana in a tiramisu just didn’t work for me… A very strange combination!
