Whilst you are reading this I will be on holiday in deepest, darkest North Wales hopefully relaxing and taking in the stunning scenery. I am away for a week so I will not be posting as usual on Tuesday & Thursday. The remote cottage we are staying in has no wifi and I would imagine very limited mobile phone signal – it will be a big change but hopefully really peaceful to be essentially unplugged for a week.
I thought I would write my weekly round-up post on Friday so that this can be scheduled to go up on Sunday as usual. However, because I am away I will not be able to reply to comments like I usually do.
This week marks the year anniversary of my Weekly Round-Up feature and the time has literally flown by! I have really enjoyed writing these more lifestyle type posts so I will continue making these a regular Sunday addition to my blog.
This week has been a beauty frenzy on the blog. I received my June Birchbox which has some great samples for me to try on holiday. To check out my full first impressions click here – Birchbox: June 2016 – The Unveiling.
I also went on a bit of a spending spree in Boots and just couldn’t resist trying the new Nude Magique Cushion foundation & the Glam Bronze Cushion de Soleil by L’Oréal. I have fallen in love with all of my new products so they will all be coming away with me to Wales!
In the above photo I am wearing my new Revlon balm stain in the shade crush. It is such a beautiful berry toned pink shade which fades to a vibrant pink. For my full beauty haul check out – Beauty Haul: Zoella Sweet Inspirations, L’Oréal Cushion Foundation & More!
I have been loving the above salad from Marks & Spencer this week. So much so that I’ve eaten it for lunch two days in a row! It is a tasty spinach, courgette, apple, bean & pumpkin seed salad. Delicious.
On Wednesday evening I went for dinner with a good friend to our local pub. It was such a lovely day we decided to sit in the beer garden.
For the past month or so I have been cutting gluten & dairy from my diet and it has made a huge impact on my IBS symptoms. The GP advised to gradually re-introduce some gluten & dairy and log how it makes me feel. So for main I ordered the butter nut squash gnocchi with beetroot and halloumi cheese. This was such a delicious meal – I could eat this every single day!
For main I pushed the boat out and ordered the sour cherry chocolate brownie with banana and marshmallow icecream. It has been over a month since I have eaten anything this indulgent and it was heavenly! I am also relieved that I did not have any symptoms in the hours after my meal but the next day I wasn’t very well at all…. So it’s a lesson learned that I am still sensitive to some foods, but not as violently sensitive as I have been before.
Look at the gorgeous poppies in the field behind my house. I really hope I can take some more stunning photos whilst I’m away in Wales next week.
