I decided to treat myself to a few beauty bits ready for our Welsh holiday adventure next week. There were some great offers on so let’s get started.
Zoella – Sweet Inspirations Fragranced Body Mist
First up I found myself in Superdrug and I just had to have a squirt of the new Sweet Inspirations fragranced body mist by Zoella beauty. I really did not expect to like this. I have tried the testers of the other collections and I really did not like the scents. Sweet Inspirations however grabbed my attention. It has a wonderfully sweet, almost vanilla or chocolately scent which reminds me of baked goods. The scent settles down to a really beautiful, warming, creamy fragrance which is really subtle on the skin. I am really impressed with this. Well done Zoella!
Imperial Leather – Marshmallow, Coconut & Tiare Flower Shower Creams
I was really impressed with the Fruit ‘n’ Chew version of these shower creams by Imperial Leather so I just couldn’t resist these ones at the bargain price of £1 each! Fruit ‘n’ Chew was featured in my May Favourites – click the link if you missed it. I am looking forward to trying these out on holiday.
I also picked up these from the L’Oréal stand. They were on a 3 for 2 offer so I just had to take advantage. I really wanted to try the new Nude Magique Cushion foundation and on first impressions I am not disappointed.
L’Oréal – Blush Sculpt in Soft Rosy
I had been looking around for a summer appropriate blush and this beautiful blush was essentially free as part of the 3 for 2 offer. This suggests you can use the three colours to sculpt your cheeks but I am really not sure how to do that! I have used this by swirling my brush across all of the three colours which does indeed give a soft rosy glow. This is really pigmented so requires a light touch! Beautiful.
L’Oréal – Nude Magique Cushion Foundation in Porcelain.
I had been really intrigued to try this new release by L’Oréal. I love the compact packaging which contains a huge mirror and a soft sponge applicator which is perfect for touching up your make up on the go. I’ve been using the foundation with both a brush and a my Real Techniques Complexion Sponge with great results.
The consistency of the foundation is very watery but it gives a lovely light to medium buildable coverage. This also gives a gorgeous dewy, healthy glow to the skin. This is the perfect foundation for the coming summer months. Perfect for travel too!
L’Oréal – Glam Bronze Cushion de Soleil
I bought this on the recommendation by Fleur de Force because she raved about it in one of her recent YouTube videos. Fleur has a very similar complexion to me so I thought I would give this a go. I have tried this a couple of times and absolutely love it. I have been applying it with a buffing brush. The bronzer has a very watery consistency but is highly pigmented so a little goes a long long way. It buffs into the skin beautifully to give a lovely sun kissed glow.
I was hoping to pick up a couple more of the NYX soft matte lip creams however the Boots I went to did not have a stand. I was a bit disappointed but then I spotted the new(ish) ultra matte HD lipcolors by Revlon.
Revlon – Colorburst Balm Stain on Crush
I am a huge fan of the shade honey so wanted to try a new shade. I have recently dyed my hair from blonde to a deep red brown so I felt I needed a deeper lipstick shade to compliment my new look. This is a gorgeous deep berry purple with hints of pink which sets down to a much more pinky stain. I love the balm consistency as you can apply this without a mirror. It is also really hydrating so great for the summer months.
Revlon – Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in Flirtation
I was hoping to pick up the shade Seduction which is a stunning nude but this was sold out. After lots of swatching I decided on this pinky peach shade called flirtation. This is a great shade for summer. I also love the formula of these liquid lipsticks. They dry down super matte but really comfortable and I didn’t even realise I was wearing a lipstick. Perfect.
Have you tried any of these? Do you have any recommendations? I love reading and replying to your comments.
