I can’t quite believe we are in June already. However hot sunny days seems a distant memory as the last two days have been cold, wet and windy! I’ve even contemplated turning the heating on but instead I’m snuggled up on the sofa in a blanket with a steaming hot cup of tea! Bliss!
So these are the things I’ve been loving in the month of May.
Imperial Leather – Fruit Chew Shower Cream
Over the past few weeks I have been cutting down on eating added sugar which has been really tough as I love sweets! So when I found this shower cream I was overjoyed as I could get my sugar fix without the calories. The sweet scent reminds me of the chewy sweet fruit salad. The shower cream also has a luxurious foam which cleanses without stripping the skin. This is such a joy to use in the shower. Absolutely love it.
Real Techniques – Miracle Complexion Sponge
I bought one of these several months ago but was convinced it was breaking me out in large painful spots so I threw it away. However more recently my skin has cleared up so I wanted to try it again. I am so glad I gave it a second chance as it hasn’t irritated my skin and creates such an effortless, flawless foundation base. A great alternative to applying foundation with a brush.
Golden Fluid Acrylics – Micaceous Iron Oxide
I have been really enjoying using the fluid acrylic paints from the brand Golden over the past month. I have especially been loving the texture and shimmer offered by the shade micaceous iron oxide. I have used drops of this shade in the painting used as a backdrop and there is a full swatch on the circle. Love it.
This is the painting I created recently. This is on a box canvas and I used the pouring medium from Liquitex which allows the fluid paints to mix and flow. This also dries to a hard resin type finish which looks stunning. What do you think?
Tesco – Free From Milk Smoked Soya
As you may or may not know I have been cutting out gluten and dairy from my diet over the past few weeks and this has worked wonders on my pain, bloating and IBS. I absolutely love cheese, it is one of my biggest vices so it has not been easy eliminating my beloved cheese from my every day diet. I have however found this great milk-free, vegan cheese alternative which was recommended by a great friend. This has a great texture, it melts like cheese and has a great smoked nutty flavour. It’s not the same as cheese but it is a very very close alternative.
Nākd – Cocoa Orange & Banana Bread
I also used to love cereal bars but they were not agreeing with me. I have been trying various different dairy and gluten free bars and these ones by nākd are just divine. They are made from just fruit, nuts and natural ingredients and are absolutely delicious.
Thanks for reading and I hope you have enjoyed my May Favourites. Have you tried any of these? Do you have any recommendations for me? I love reading and replying to your comments.
