After a very busy May Day bank holiday weekend I decided to take a mini break from blogging and did not post anything on Tuesday. However on Tuesday evening we made an impromptu visit to Boots and to my delight I found a new NYX stand which I just couldn’t walk past!
NYX are an American make up brand, which, up until very recently could not be purchased widely in the UK. I had been wanting to try these lip products for quite some time as many beauty bloggers and vloggers rave about the quality of NYX lip products.
I was really impressed with the wide selection of colour choices in both the soft matte lip creams & the butter glosses. It took me a bit of time to make a final decision on which colours were coming home with me.
In the soft matte lip cream I plumped for this beautiful shade called Cannes. This is a stunning muted pinky brown nude shade. It actually swatches a lot darker than it looks in the tube. I was really surprised by how weightless the formula feels and glides on the lips. It applied like water and quickly dries down to a soft matte finish. The formula has a mouth watering vanillary cake like scent which is very moreish!
I have been wearing this shade non stop since I bought it and it lasts a good 4-6 hours, and even holds up well after eating. I paid £5.50 for this lip cream and it is definitely my new favourite liquid lipstick! I still love the Bourjois rouge velvet liquid lipsticks but these ones from NYX win hands down when it comes to longetivity, shade range and wearability. These don’t dry out my lips at all and are really comfortable to wear all day. I am super impressed!
I also bought a butter gloss in the shade Crème Brulee. Similar to the soft matte lip creams the formula is reminiscent of home baked goods which is just divine. The consistency of this gloss is not sticky like you would expect. It does melt into the lips and feels really nourishing.
In the above lip swatch I am wearing the lip cream all over and I’ve applied the butter gloss in the centre of my lips.
I am really impressed with these products from NYX – they definitely lived up to the hype! I look forward to trying more from the range now it is avaliable in Boots.
Let me know you thoughts. Have you tried anything from NYX? Do you have any suggestions for me? Thank you for reading and I do love reading and replying to your comments so please share!
