Current Skincare Routine

I have incredibly sensitive yet dry skin which is also prone to hormonal break outs which are a nightmare to get rid of. Therefore I have to be extra mindful what skincare products I use on my face otherwise I turn into a painful red mess.

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while then you will know I am a firm fan of all things Liz Earle skincare and absolutely adore the iconic hot cloth cleanser. I have been using it off and on for years but over the past few months I have noticed that my skin was looking red and feeling irritated after cleansing and moisturising using Liz Earle products. My skin had become super sensitive and I had noticed small flesh coloured bumps appear on my forehead which gave my skin a rough uneven texture.

I decided to switch up my skincare routine and products to see if this would make a difference and I am so glad I did!

Let me introduce to you the game changer – Peaches & Clean Deep Cleansing Milk from Soap & Glory. I am still a relative newbie to the Soap & Glory skincare range and this cleanser was part of a massive gift set I gifted myself at Christmas as it was half price.

I have been using this twice a day for the past couple of months and my skin has absolutely transformed. Soap & Glory describe this as a deep cleansing milk and I definitely concur. A couple of pumps of this milky like gel is all that is needed to remove heavy make up and cleanse deep down into the skin.

This has a delicate peach scent and the cleanser is very gentle leaving my skin feeling clean but not red or irritated at all. I absolutely love this and will be buying another bottle when this runs out.

Next up I spritz over my beloved Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic to tone and prepare my skin for moisturiser.

A couple of months ago I run out of my Liz Earle Skin Repair for dry & sensitive skin and didn’t have the money to buy another. Desperate times lead to desperate measures and I reached for my boyfriends moisturiser as he refuses to use it as he doesn’t like the feel of it on his skin despite having very sensitive and dry skin!

Yep, you read that right, I have been using the Nivea Men sensitive moisturiser! I really did not have high expectations for this moisturiser but I am 100% blown away.

This is a non-scented moisturiser which has quite a thick gel like texture. The moisturiser takes a while to be worked into the skin but I quite like the fact that you have to massage it in as it really gets the blood to the surface so the product can be absorbed deep into the skin.

I use this both morning and night. This is great to use before applying make-up and can be used as a great primer to. When I use this as part of my bed time routine I wake up with beautifully hydrated and soft skin.

Not only has this skincare combination left my sensitive skin beautifully hydrated it has also calmed down my hormonal break outs and the flesh coloured bumps on my forehead have completely disappeared! I now have clear, even and much more radiant skin.

Thanks for reading, I hope you have enjoyed this post. What recommendations do you have? I love reading and replying to your comments.
