It’s Weekly Round-Up time! As always this week has flown by and I’ve had a horrible sore throat which was the start of an awful cold – I am now sneezing, coughing and spluttering with every other word.
Not feeling physically well has also had an impact on my mental and emotional wellbeing and I have had a few wobbles this week with anxiety panic attacks. Not good. My road to recovery is going to be more bumpy than I had first appreciated.
Nails, Nails, Nails
At the start of the week February’s Nailbox graced my door which put a smile on my face.
This months theme was funky retro and if you missed out my full first impressions check out Nailbox February 2016: The Unveiling.
I also gave myself a much needed manicure pamper using this gorgeous deep blue shade by Ciaté. If you’re interested in finding out more remember to keep checking back as I will post my full review this week.
Food: Rediscovering My Love Of Cooking
As you may or may not know living with anxiety and depression is exhausting. Until I broke down I had never realised how much of myself I had lost and been consumed by how unwell I had become.
I used to thoroughly enjoy cooking and preparing meals from scratch & experimenting with new recipes and styles. Over the past week or so I have re-discovered my love of cooking and creating.
The dish I was most proud of was this absolutely delicious pesto topped baked salmon on a bed of risotto with roasted peppers & carrots. I found a basic risotto recipe online which I loosely followed and then experimented with flavours. I really enjoyed myself and found myself feeling proud of what I had achieved – a feeling I can’t remember experiencing in a long long time.
Creativity: Art & Photography
This week I have also found joy in painting and building my confidence with my DSLR camera.
I have bought four of these small canvases to make a colourful display in our hall way. This is the first section in a selection of yellow hues – reminiscent of sunny days!
I have also been feeling more confident with my DSLR camera, however I have yet to step outside of the pre-programmed settings on the camera and venture into the world of manual mode – little steps, little steps.
