Since entering the world of blogging in April last year I have amassed quite a collection of lipsticks. Not bad for someone who firmly stuck to lip balms and glosses in my life-before-blogging!
Over the past nine months I have splurged on several MAC lipsticks so I thought it was about time I shared my little MAC lipstick collection with you.
Out of all the lipsticks I’ve tried MAC & of course the incredible Charlotte Tilbury cannot be beaten on quality & longevity. MAC also have an impressive choice when it comes to not only shade but the finish of your lipstick too.
A single MAC lipstick will set you back around £15.50 which is much more expensive than drugstore brands, however I see these as investments which just last and last. The quality and the trademark vanilla scent just cannot be beaten and I am sure I will be inspired to add more to my collection over the coming months.
Twig – Satin Finish
Twig was actually my first ever MAC lipstick purchase. For my full first impressions head over to one of my first ever blog posts Lipstick Loves.
Twig is a satin finish which means it is long lasting with a semi-matte and slight sheen to the finish which is super comfortable to wear. The colour is a very pretty brown with a subtle pink undertone.
Mehr – Matte Finish
Mehr was a definite the-blogger-made-me-do-it inspired purchase! For my full review check out my MAC Mini Haul post.
Mehr is a matte finish which is super long lasting and is such a stunning mauve pink shade. Mehr has a beautiful creamy consistency which just glides on the lips leaving them fuller and adding a your-lips-but-better touch of colour. A firm favourite.
Ruby Woo – Retro Matte Finish
This was an impulse purchase by my wonderful boyfriend which he bought in Dublin airport for me on his return from a business trip. I wanted a Christmas appropriate red for the festive season and this beautiful shade did not disappoint.
I do however struggle with the retro matte finish as it is very drying on the lips and quite difficult to apply as it tends to pull and drag on my lips. I found the best way to achieve a flawless result was to dab it straight from the bullet and work it in with my finger.
Vegas Volt – Amplified Creme Finish
Vegas Volt was a staple for me in the summer months as it is a gorgeous coral shade. The amplified creme finish is the most comfortable to wear out of all of my MAC lipsticks. Super hydrating leaving your lips with a slight gloss. This lipstick lasts a good few hours but will need to be topped up after eating or drinking and throughout the day. I hope you have enjoyed this trip through my mini MAC collection – let me know what your must have shades are! Love reading and replying to your comments.
