I love a good cup of tea and love trying new flavours and brands. One of my favourite flavoured teas which I have a steaming cup of every morning is the delicious salted caramel green tea by Twinings. For my full review of the Twinings tea check it out here and for other flavoured teas I adore here.
I had often seen Teapigs teabags gracing the aisles during my supermarket shop but had never taken the plunge to buy a pack as they are around £4.50 for 15 tea bags which is rather on the pricey side. I however received these two packs of tea bags as part of a rather wonderful birthday present from a great friend who knows me very well indeed.
Teapigs tea contains whole tea leaves and the actual tea bag has a spacious pyramid shape made from a biodegradable material. The two flavours I was gifted are Rooibos Crème Caramel and Chocolate Flake Tea.
The Rooibos Crème Caramel tea contains visible chunks of caramel in the tea bag which melt as the tea brews. This tea does need to be left a good time to brew, my tea mugs are rather large so I have been leaving to brew for at least 5 minutes. I just add a small dash of milk and this tea is perfect in the evening before bed as it is caffeine-free and has a lovely creamy caramel sweetness to it. Really lovely.
Chocolate Flake Tea has a deeper distinct flavour to the other tea and contains real visible chunks of chocolate which melt as the tea brews. Again I tend to leave it to brew for at least 5 minutes and then just add the tiniest dash of milk. The chocolate gives this tea a smooth depth of flavour with a touch of creamy sweetness. A real winner with me.
These teas are lovely when you want to treat yourself to something a bit different – a great indulgent alternative to a hot chocolate without the calories!
Have you tried any of the teas from Teapigs? What are your favourites? I can’t wait to try more! I love reading and replying to your comments.
