Birchbox – October 2015: The Unveiling

It’s that time of the month again – Birchbox time! This month I was actually able to choose between two boxes either the Stylist Box or the Back To Basics Box – and I was told the exact contents of each box so I could make an informed decision. Excellent.

As you can see I opted for the Back To Basics box which was packed full of products which deliver on results and you can reach for every day. Fail-safe, staple beauty products. I have to admit I chose this box purely for the Seche Vite fast dry nail polish top coat! I love my nails!

What I got in the box….

Eyeko – Fat Liquid Eyeliner (full size £12)

This is a lovely thick pen style eyeliner. I have heard and read great things about the brand Eyeko so am impressed with receiving this full size product. I definitely need to up my eyeliner game so am looking forward to experimenting with this!

Seche Vite – Top Coat (full size £9)

This top coat has been raved about by many a blogger and YouTuber and I don’t quite know why I haven’t gotten round to trying this sooner, being the nail geek that I am!

Bioderma – Hydrabio H20 (sample size)

I have never tried the original micellar water that is Bioderma so I am intrigued to give this a try. This is a tiny sample bottle though…. Not too generous there Birchbox!

Regenerate – Enamel Science Advanced Toothpaste (sample size)

This is a toothpaste sample which isn’t exactly the most exciting beauty sample I have ever received. I can however understand the connection with Back To Basics as having a bright fresh smile is a fundamental beauty essential.

Beaver Professional – Hydro Nutritive Moisturizing Shampoo (sample size)

&

Beaver Professional – Hydro Nutritive Moisturizing Conditioner (sample size)

This is a sample from a shampoo brand I have again never heard of. I have to admit I was slightly disappointed with haircare samples – but I did pick this box purely for the Seche Vite and the Eyeko eyeliner. Having said that, shampoo and conditioner samples are always good for traveling so I’m sure I’ll make good use of these.

This months Birchbox has been quite a mixed first impressions – some great hits and some so-so potentially misses.

What did you get in your box? Have you tried any of these products? I love reading and replying to your comments.
