If you are a regular reader of my blog then you will know that my skin leans more on the dry/sensitive side of things, therefore historically I have firmly avoided anything matte as I thought matte equated to drying and caking on my skin.
I initially picked this up as my skin had been going through a particularly angry and challenging time breaking out with lots of spots which I was struggling to shift and cover with my staple Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation. I thought that a more medium-high coverage foundation would be perfect and was intrigued to try a matte finish. Plus it was a great price of only £7.99 – bargain!
The foundation itself has quite a thick consistency (in comparison to the Healthy Mix Serum) and the pigmentation is really impressive; a small drop goes a long way and achieves a high coverage.
As you can see from my photo above the finish is flawless and covers my spots and blemishes incredibly well.
I have really enjoyed using this foundation, and the coverage has lasted all day. The only negative I would say is that throughout the day I noticed cracks around my mouth and under my eyes where the foundation had settled in my lines making them much more obvious! I think this is more to do with my dry skin type rather than a flaw with the foundation itself. I ensure I moisturise well before applying this foundation, but it can still look cakey as the day progresses.
Looks great in photographs but on closer inspection it can settle in any lines and cling to dry patches. This has been a hero product when my skin was freaking out and going through a spotty and oily phase, but use with plenty of moisturiser if you have drier skin.
A great foundation and addition to my base collection.
Have you tried this foundation? What are your thoughts? I love reading and replying to your comments.
