It was however well worth the eager wait! This month is celebrating the fifth birthday of Birchbox and as a nod towards the beauty subscription boxes American heritage all of the products were born in the USA.
Now let’s jump in to the box!
Whish – CC Body Cream (22ml)
This is actually an added extra just for me as I referred four friends onto Birchbox this month. This body cream has a delicate coconut scent and leaves the skin beautifully hydrated with a very subtle sheen from the bronze shimmer. Lovely.
Benefit – the POREfessional (1.4 g sample, full size £15.50)
I was very excited to see this new release from the wonderful Benefit nestled in my box. This is a primer in stick form which can be applied straight from the tube onto the nose, forehead and chin to battle against a shiny T-zone. Claims to be able to mattify shine for up to 6 hours. Looking forward to giving this a try.
Laqa & Co – Cheeky Lip Pencil (I assume this is a sample size, full size £17)
This is a crayon style lip and cheek product in a stunning bold pink colour.
As you can see from the swatch above this is super pigmented. I have tried this on my lips and it dries down to a stain which is lovely.
Beauty Protector – Beauty Wash (sample size, full size £8)
I have only been receiving a Birchbox for the past 4-5 months and have received a couple of products by Beauty Protector both of which have impressed me. This is a body wash with has a lovely soft sweet scent. Also a great size for travelling.
The Birchbrush – £5.99
I had been toying with the idea of trying a Tangle Teezer over the past few months as my thick hair is a struggle to detangle when it’s wet. So I was delighted to find this edition in my box. I used it straight away and it is perfect to work out knots and tangles in your hair, I also love the soft green colour. Love it.
John Masters Organics – Citrus Neroli Detangler (30ml, full size £16)
This smells absolutely incredible – a winner for me! This contains coconut oil and wheat amino acids to nourish your hair whilst the neroli and grapefruit soothes the scalp. This is to be applied to wet hair and either left for 1-3 minutes and washed out or can be used as a leave-in treatment. I am looking forward to putting this product through its paces on my unruly hair!
bliss – Lemon + Sage Body Butter (30ml, full size £22)
This again has a truly delightful scent! Beautiful sharp lemon which is mellowed by the herbal notes of sage. Gorgeous. I have never tried anything by bliss and a rich body butter is always a welcome edition to my skincare routine – especially as we creep into the autumnal months.
Overall I am really impressed with this months Birchbox. A great fifth birthday celebration.
