I absolutely love nail polish and am a huge fan of more high-end brands like OPI and Nail Inc. However, more recently I have been trying Barry M and Rimmel nail polishes which are much more affordable and I have been bowled over by the range of colour, finishes and quality!
A few weekends ago my partner and I found ourselves in Poundland. I had not been in a Poundland for years and was surprised to see a packed make-up stand with everything from foundation, to eyeshadow, to liners and a vast selection of nail polish – and yes you’ve guessed it all for the bargain price of a £1!
There was a large selection of colours to choose from, ranging from creamy bold shades to glitter finishes. I chose the above three colours: a pale blue, a deep teal and the stunning bold berry shade scarlet sparkle.
The consistency of this polish is quite runny but it is easy to work with. I particularly like the wide curve brush which is the perfect size to achieve a flawless coverage on the nail. I applied a base coat, two coats of scarlet sparkle and applied a top coat to achieve the above look.
The polish dries super fast and does achieve a high gloss finish on its own. I think this particular shade would also look stunning as a top coat over a deeper berry toned nail polish – absolutely perfect for the coming autumnal months!
I am honestly impressed with the quality of this nail polish. It definitely stands tall against the other more affordable brands which are often £3-5 more per bottle! For a measly £1 you really cannot go wrong with Make Up Gallery at Poundland.
