L-R: Essie Bikini So Teeny, Peach Side Babe, Apriciot Cuticle Oil, Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation Powder, L’Oréal Brow Artist, Real Techniques Bold Metals Angled Liner Brush, L’Oréal More of Bora Bora, Smoke Me Up
So last weekend I went into Boots as I wanted to pick up another of the L’Oréal infallible lip glosses as they come in a variety of finishes. L’Oréal products were on a 3 for 2 offer so I just had to pick up a couple more bits – more than I had initially intended. This seems to always be the way – I get sucked in with the offers and end up denting my credit card more than I had planned!
So let’s get started with what made its way into my basket!
Nails: Essie Bikini So Teeny, Peach Side Babe & Apricot Cuticle Oil
I fell in love with the beautiful Bikini So Teeny so just couldn’t wait to get it on my nails! I just adore the soft creamy blue shade with subtle lilac tones and shimmer. If you missed my full review then check it out here.
I also picked up another Apricot Cuticle Oil. This is a repurchase as I couldn’t live without it. A beautifully hydrating treatment oil for your nails and cuticles with a subtle apricot scent. For my full nail care routine including this oil click here.
Face: Eyebrows, Foundation Powder, Eyeliner Brush
L’Oréal was on a 3 for 2 offer so I thought that was a good excuse for me to try this brow artist eyebrow powder for £9.99.
Firstly I love the compact and sleek packaging. It is also pretty sturdy so has survived some bashing in my make up bag!
This brow artist includes a spoolie with an angled filler brush at the other end and a tiny pair of tweezers to create the perfect groomed brow! I have been using this for the past few days and I am so happy I picked this up – my brows have never looked so on fleek!
After brushing my brows through with the tiny spoolie I dip the angled brush in the wax to prepare and shape my brows ready for the colour. Once all in place I then lightly dip the brush into the powder pigment to fill in any sparse spaces in my brow. Ta dah! Beautifully groomed arched eyebrows. Can’t believe I had waited so long to take the plunge and try this type of brow product. Love it!
I was looking to try a new budget friendly powder and decided to try something from Rimmel as I have been so impressed with their lipsticks. This powder compact only set me back £5.99 – bargain!
When I got this home I realised that this is actually the Lasting Finish Powder Foundation by Rimmel so is intended to be used as a foundation. I have tried to use this as a foundation but it was very cakey on the skin without much coverage so I wasn’t a fan.
However, using this as a face powder it does a fabulous job! I also love the little sponge and mirror nestled underneath the powder product. The packaging itself it quite chunky though.
I already have one of the L’Oréal Infallible Lipglosses in the cream finish which I just love and keep in my handbag as its a perfect shade for work. I just had to try a couple more from the range.
This range of Lipglosses come in a variety of finishes: cream, neon, matte, dazzle.
I picked up number 306 More of Bora Bora which is part of the neon range. This is a bold bright neon pink shade in the tube but this does not translate into the lips. On the lips this gives a hint of pink but is mostly super glossy and sheer. This gloss also has a juicy scent of watermelon! Yummy.
I also picked up number 407 Smoke Me Up in a matte finish. This looks quite a creamy pink mauve in the tube but on my lips it is more of a deep berry which I think will be perfect for autumn.
This lipgloss has a matte finish so is very similar in texture as a liquid matte lipstick however it does not ‘set’ firm and doesn’t dry down super matte on the lips. This lipgloss remains beautifully hydrating and moisturising whilst giving a matte finish to the lips. It is super pigmented and creates an even colour. Beautiful. Definitely the most comfortable matte lip product I have tried so far – great for dry lips! Love it. I will definitely try some more of the matte finishes.
I am planning on doing a whole blog post review on the L’Oréal Infallible Lipglosses I own as I am a massive fan – stay tuned if you would be interested in reading that!
Since entering the world of blogging I have wanted to up my eye make up game so have been gradually investing in the right tools to experiment with different looks!
This stunning Real Techniques Bold Metals Angled Liner brush was on offer in Boots so I thought I would give it a try. I absolutely love the look of the brush – very bold and sleek. The brush head is very soft and gives a precise line to the eye. I have enjoyed using it, so it is a welcome addition to my expanding make up brush collection.
Have you tried any of these products? What do you love using? I love reading and replying to your comments.
