I’ve really enjoyed writing these posts, so would love to know if you enjoy these too. I have been debating whether I should reduce these posts down to either once a month round-ups or once a fortnight – let me know what you think.
So the themes of this week have been beauty (of course!), food and wellbeing.
Wellbeing: Sprained foot & facemasks
On Monday night I managed to sprain my foot just by walking up the stairs! I am a naturally uncoordinated, clumsy and accident prone person, but spraining my foot by walking up the stairs was even a feat for someone with my disposition! My foot was so swollen I couldn’t put my shoes on and I couldn’t put any weight on it – I was hopping around which was hilarious but extremely painful! After some rest, elevation, a cold compress and support bandages my foot felt an awful lot better.
My skin has also been a nightmare this week with lots of hormonal break outs along my chin and jaw line so I have been reaching for my trusty Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask. I’ve used the mask three times this week and it’s sorted out my skin – it is wonderful stuff! If you missed my Face Mask Review post check it out here.
We should be moving to our new home in the next few weeks so I thought I needed to spend some time in our lovely little garden before I would have to say goodbye – yes I’m being sentimental I know!
Beauty: Hauls & Nails
My spending ban in July is now a long distant memory. I have been loving picking up some new beauty products to pamper and treat myself too – especially after the busy few weeks I have been having at work. I definitely deserve to be treated!
I have been a lover of LUSH for years and had been lusting over my favourite bubble bar being avaliable in shower cream form but up until recently it had only been avaliable in the huge Oxford Street store.
London is only a couple of hours away from me but I am a rural country girl through and through so really have to push myself to step into the ‘big smoke’. So imagine my delight when I realised the Comforter Shower Cream was now avaliable online! I was beaming from ear to ear yay!!
A couple of other products also found their way into my online basket – I couldn’t just buy one thing, I didn’t want the Comforter Shower Cream to get lonely! For my full first impressions check out my Lush Haul post here.
Yesterday we did a bit of shopping and I found myself in Boots and picked up a few bits. L’Oreal had a great 3 for 2 offer on which I couldn’t resist and the Real Techniques brushes were reduced and of course I had to pick up some new nail polishes. I’ll blog about my full Boots Haul soon – so keep checking back.
I have also fallen in love with the truly stunning Bikini So Teeny shade by Essie I picked up yesterday – I just couldn’t wait to get it on my nails! There will be a full blog post devoted to this gorgeous colour soon – so keep checking back!
Food: Cake, Sweets & Misleading Labelling
Whilst we were shopping yesterday we had to have a coffee and cake stop off and we shared this delicious three tiered lemon drizzle cake – it was so so good and my salted caramel latte went down well too.
After our shopping trip we made our way to a wholesaler as we needed to pick up some cans of no-added sugar drinks and bottles of water and this is a great way of buying in bulk and cheaply. I was drawn to the sweetie aisle and picked up a large tub of Haribo Starmix – yum!
During the week we went to the Co-Op for our mid-week shop and when choosing a salad cream I stumbled across this highly confusing and misleading labelling. These salad creams are EXACTLY the same; same product, different labelling and marketed at different consumers and very different prices. Did I go for the regular salad cream at 58p or the reduced fat salad cream at £1?!?!
I hope you have enjoyed my weekly round-up. Let me know what you think, have you tried any of the products I’ve mentioned this week? I love reading and replying to your comments.
