I know I say this every week but these week has indeed flown by! Where did the time go?! At least we are one step closer to moving house so that’s a real positive – I am not, however, looking forward to what seems like the mammoth task of packing…. especially with all the stuff my partner has in the loft….
This week marks the lifting of my self-imposed beauty spending ban in July and I could not wait to go out and splurge! I picked up a few new bits in Superdrug – check out my Drugstore Mini Haul here.
I had also been lusting over MAC lipsticks in the month of July so just had to try a couple once August was here. It was a real struggle to decide on which two I wanted to try as MAC has such an extensive and beautiful range of lipsticks! I did however plump for the truly gorgeous nudey mauve matte shade Mehr and the stunning bright coral Vegas Volt which has a glossy amplified creme finish. For my full review click here.
Whilst doing our food shop I also stumbled across the Neals Yard Remedies section in Waitrose (we don’t usually shop in Waitrose but I like to mix things up when it comes to the somewhat boring task of the grocery shop!). I managed to pick up this rehydrating rose toner which has been a real joy to use! Does exactly what it suggests, refreshes the skin whilst leaving it radiant and hydrated. Great stuff!
A very talent friend and colleague made me this crocheted Rhino who we have welcoming into our family and named Rhoddy! He will be a great addition to our new home (when we move!). He is a truly beautiful doorstop! Love him!
On Saturday we went over to some friends for lunch and Andy made these delicious bread rolls! They were so tasty and made for a very yummy lunch! Great company and great food – nothing better than that on a Saturday afternoon!
As it was the start of the weekend I decided to treat myself to a Mojito cocktail which was rather strong but very refreshing!
For starter we shared the nirvana nachos – nachos covered in a vegetarian chilli, sour cream, guacamole, jalapeños and topped with melted cheese. Delicious!
For main I choose the falafel burger topped with avocado, grilled halloumi and pepper with sides of sweet potato fries and light slaw. I am not vegetarian but I do tend to pick vegetarian dishes when I eat out as I find them more appealing. This dish did not let me down – very satisfying.
I finished off the meal with a gooey warm chocolate brownie and vanilla icecream. I am quite picky with my brownies – they have to be the right consistency, not too cake/sponge like but not under-baked and this one really hit the mark. Beautifully delicious brownie. Scrumptious!
