July Favourites: Skin Care Edition
I decided to do something a bit different with this months favourites, separating them out into two posts the Lip Edition and the Skin Care Edition. If you missed my lip edition post check it out here – July Favourites: Lip Edition.
So let’s get on to skin care! This month I have added a new cleanser to my evening skin care routine and I’ve been loving it. It is the beautiful Wild Rose Beauty Balm by Neal’s Yard Remedies. I actually bought this on the last day of June so it was my last beauty product splurge before my spending ban in July!
I’ve been mostly using this balm as a second cleanse in the evening after removing my make-up, however on the odd occasion I have used this to remove my make-up too and it is brilliant at dissolving and breaking down every last scrap of make-up leaving your skin clean and fresh.
I use this like any other cleansing balm, warming a small amount in my hands before smoothing over my face and massaging into my skin. Just wonderful! This balm has a truly incredible rose scent – I am a massive fan of rose scents so this was always going to be a winner with me! The scent is quite strong and I find it so relaxing and pampering.
Once I’ve massaged the balm all over my skin I then use a muslin cloth soaked in warm water to gently buff the skin and take away any residue. This beauty balm is described as an exfoliating cleanser which is organic and packed full of natural oils and plant extracts. Not only is it a rich, nourishing and exfoliating cleanser but it can also be used as a skin treatment mask – I have yet to try this as a mask but am hoping to test this out at the weekend.
I have found this beauty balm to be really calming and gentle on my skin – I have had several break-outs this month especially around my chin and this cleanser has been great at soothing my skin without stripping it. Just wonderful!
This is on the pricey side costing £38 for this 50g container. I do however prefer this balm to the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm which is a similar price, so I think I would repurchase this Wild Rose Beauty Balm and use as a treat when my skin needs a pick-me-up boost.
