Weekly Round-Up: #7

This week has literally flown by! I cannot quite believe it’s Sunday already. The theme, again, of this week has been food – both eating out and making my own tasty creations!

For those of you who don’t know I am in the process of buying a new home with my partner and this week we finally got the fantastic news that our mortgage has been agreed 😊. We are hoping that if all goes smoothly that we can exchange and complete in September *fingers crossed*.

Beauty Loves

I am currently on a self-imposed spending ban on purchasing any new beauty or make-up items. However my boyfriend and I went into town on Saturday morning and I had totally run dry of any perfume so after a lengthy discussion putting my argument forward as to why perfume is a necessity and should not be considered an extra I bought this beautiful perfume from the Body Shop. I will do a full review of this Italian Summer Fig perfume soon – it is wonderfully fruity with some musky green notes. Lovely.

Another beauty love this week has been experimenting with my current lip products and combining the stunning MAC Twig satin lipstick and the L’Oréal I Got The Power lipgloss over top. I’ve been loving this nude, my-lips-but-better. Gorgeous.

I love a good curry and this week I made a delicious chicken tikka masala with rice and mango chutney. I used a tikka spice and sauce duo jar to save time (I do however like to make it from scratch too). I griddled some peppers to cook with the chicken in the sauce. Delicious.

After the curry we cooled down with a twister ice lolly – another favourite of mine. Got to love a twister!

On Saturday morning we went into town early as I needed to buy my mum a present as it was her birthday, so of course breakfast at Carluccio’s was in order!

I ordered the Crêpes with berries, yogurt and honey which was absolutely delicious. We also ordered the Pane Con Marmellata Fichi which was a selection of Italian toasted breads with butter and fig jam to share. I am a huge fan of figs and this jam was the perfect balance of sweet and sticky fig, complimented the breads expertly. A great start to the day!

Saturday afternoon we headed over to my parents for a BBQ to celebrate my mums birthday. I said I would bring some desserts so I made butterfly buns and Eton Mess with homemade mini meringues.

I am planning on doing separate posts about my baking escapades so if you’re interesting in reading more about my culinary creations remember to check back!

Hope you have enjoyed my weekly round-up. I love reading and replying to all of your comments.
