Firstly, being a bit of a stickler for correct spelling and punctuation I have only just noticed that each of these chamomile based cleansing products use two different spelling of the word; camomile & chamomile. Both are correct ways to spell this beautifully delicate flower, so for the purposes of consistency I will use the spelling chamomile throughout this post. Right now on to the post!
Summer Skincare Cleansing Routine: The Evening Edition
I have been loving both of these chamomile based cleansing products over the past month or so. I have found them particularly gentle and soothing over the past few days where there has been a mini humid heat wave here in the UK! These have been great for calming my sensitive skin which gets very angry and red when exposed to too much sun.
I tend to use both of these cleansers as part of my evening skincare routine. I tend to use the double cleanse method to ensure I rid my skin of every last scrap of make-up, SPF and daily grim.
For my first cleanse I have been using the beautiful Body Shop oil cleanser. You only need 1-2 pumps gently warmed in your palms and this incredible oil transforms into a soft, silky liquid which I massage all over my face – including my eyes to gently lift off and dissolve stubborn eye make-up. I just adore the gentle chamomile scent which is just so calming, soothing and kind to the skin. I then soak a muslin cloth in warm water, ring out the excess water and use to remove the cleanser.
I always use Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish as my second cleanse and over the summer days I have been loving this Limited Edition Orange Flower and Chamomile cleanse and polish; it compliments the Body Shop cleansing oil to give your skin a boost of calming and soothing chamomile.
This limited edition scent has the same coveted Cleanse & Polish formulation which cleanses the skin beautifully without stripping it, leaving your skin soft and hydrated whilst fully clean. I use 1-2 pumps of this cream cleanser and smooth and massage it all over my face, working it into my skin to lift off any make-up residue. I then soak the muslin cloth again and use it to gently buff my skin and remove the cleanser revealing radiant, clean and soft skin.
I find these chamomile cleansers so soothing and calming to use in the summer months – a great combination! I will be sad when I use the last pump of the Liz Earle Orange Flower & Chamomile Cleanse & Polish as it is Limited Edition. I loved using this combination – my skin has thanked me for it!
