I love painting my nails and trying new colours and styles. I have only recently entered into the world of Barry M nail polishes and my only wish is that I had tried them sooner!
I picked these up from Boots last weekend (so before #NoSpendingJuly) and they were on a spend £6 on Barry M and get a free Gelly Nail Paint. So I decided to pick up two nail polishes and a free Gelly nail paint – a cost of under £8 for the three nail polishes – bargain!
Above in the beautiful Fondant shade Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint. This is a just beautiful creamy soft pink with tones of pale lilac. I applied two coats to get a even and dense coverage. I have been loving the Barry M nail polish range, however if the brush was wider with more of a curve they would be perfect! The brush is just a standard straight bristles which is fairly thin making it more difficult to achieve a perfect application on the nail. The consistency, texture and colour range in the actual polishes are incredible though.
Above is the intense and bold royal blue colour called Blue Grape. This is a beautiful colour which needed two coats to achieve a perfect bright look. The Gelly Hi-Shine nail paint formulation does exactly as the name suggests – achieves a wonderful gel-like shine to the nail, so no need for a top coat (however I always use a top coat to elongate the wear time before chipping!).
I applied the Mermaid glitter polish from the Barry M Aquarium Collection as a top coat for the stunning Blue Grape to achieve the above look. This is with only one coat of the glitter polish. The polish has a great consistency – a clear polish with tiny gold, turquoise and green different size foil particles which are evenly distributed to achieve a lovely glittery look. This look could be easily built up by applying more layers of the Mermaid polish to intensify the shimmer! Just beautiful.
Let me know what you think. Have you tried these colours? Do you have any recommendations for me? I love reading and replying to all your comments.
