Things I’ve Been Loving In May

I thought I would do a monthly favourites post as I love reading other blog posts like this so I hope you enjoy what I have been loving in the month of May!

L – R:

L’Occitané Figuier & Osmanthus – 30ml Eau De Toilette £28

This is a beautiful subtle fragrance which I fell in love with. This has gorgeous top notes of blackcurrant, bergamot and ripe fig and more subtle hints of apricot and floral osmanthus. I think this is a lovely scent perfect for summer. This is limited edition so I may have to stock up!

Bourjois – Healthy Balance Pressed Compact Powder

I love love love the Bourjois Healthy range and the Healthy Mix Serum Foundation in particular is an amazing base which gives great coverage, has great staying power and is wonderfully hydrating. Because I love the base so much I wanted to try other products from the range so I picked up this pressed powder.

This powder is so light and gives a lovely matte finish which isn’t cakey on the skin; great for setting base make-up and asborbing any oilness on the T-Zone – perfect. It also has a handy mirror in the compact so I tend to keep this in my handbag for any touch-ups during the day.

Liz Earle – 2ml Sample of Superskin Concentrate

I only have about two days left in this tiny tube and I am gutted – I have however ordered a full size of this as it has transformed my skin and I just can’t bare to be without it!

This is a oil type serum which I have been using in my night time skin care routine after cleansing and before moisturising. It has a intoxicating herbal/floral botanical scent which is a real treat when massaging into the skin. It absorbs quickly and I wake up with beautifully refreshed and rejuvenated skin – another winner from Liz Earle. Love it 😊.

Secret Garden – Colouring in book

I have been loving colouring in this month. My boyfriend bought me this book from Waterstones and it has some wonderful and intricate designs all with a secret garden theme – lots of owls which I love.

The owl picture in the photo is nearly finished. I have been using ink crayon pencils to colour-in. They look like a regular colouring pencil but when you add a tiny amount of water to the page it transforms the colour to a lovely ink wash which can be layered without mixing the colours to create lovely tones and shades. Love it.

Essie – Apricot Cuticle Oil

I have been loving this cuticle oil and have been using it several times a day every day and my nails and cuticles have been thanking me for it! It has a lovely subtle apricot scent and is super hydrating and nourishing. Great oil which will last ages. A good alternative to my beloved OPI Avoplex Oil.

Blossom Cottage – Elderflower Cordial

I have been trying to drink more water and I sometimes get bored with plain water or regular sugar-free squashes so I wanted to try something a bit different. I am a massive fan of Elderflower cordial and this one was on offer in the supermarket. Elderflower is a very subtle refreshing flavour, this cordial is great with water and with sparkling water if you want to mix it up. Great stuff. I am sad that the bottle is finished.

Lily Pebbles – Every Day May Vlogs

I love watching YouTube and my favourites are Essie Button and Tanya Burr. I find Essie quirky and hilarious and love her beauty and make up tips, I also love watching Tanya Burr as she is a Norfolk girl like me; I especially love her vlogs.

However in May I have been watching the wonderful Lily Pebbles every day! She has been posting a new vlog every day in May – I find her very watchable, very sassy and quirky. Would definitely recommend checking her out. She has made me laugh so much this month! She is a London YouTuber and blogger and I love that I can explore London by watching her videos – I can experience London vicariously through her, as I am a country girl through and through and really struggle with the hustle and bustle of big city life!

Hope you have enjoyed my favourites – what have you been loving in May?

xXx Em
