I love looking after my nails, and love red hued nail polishes in particular so when I spotted this gorgeous summery shade by Rimmel I couldn’t resist – and I managed to get it for the bargain price of £1.99!
I have never tried any Rimmel polishes before so I didn’t hold much faith for such a cheap polish but wow I am impressed! The colour applies as a gorgeous orange/deep coral/red shade and in some lights it has a pinky sheen – slightly different to what I had expected as in the bottle it looks much more red; I love it none the less!
This bottle has a wide fan shaped brush which gives a flawless application. The polish consistency is quite thick and if you were in a hurry you could get away with just one coat as the coverage is streak free. This also touch dries in a couple of minutes – great stuff!
In order to achieve the above look I used my new Sally Hansen 18k Gold Cuticle Eraser and Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil. These were both new products for me and I am again impressed!
Sally Hansen 18k Gold Cuticle Eraser – This is a treatment gel formula which is applied to the cuticle to prepare the nails for your manicure. The gel contains tiny exfoliating particles which you massage into the cuticle to gently soften and condition the cuticle – this is then washed off. I then used the cuticle pusher which is included in the lid of this product and gently pushed back my cuticles and carefully buffed away any dry skin from the nail bed – revealing a perfect base to my manicure!
I then applied a base coat of OPI Nail Envy which is a treatment product to strengthen your nails. I then applied two coats of the Rimmel Rita Ora Glaston-Berry polish and then the Nails Inc Caviar Top Coat which I always use.
To finish I applied the Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil all over my cuticle and nails which supports the drying process and treats the whole nail. This is a lovely nourishing cuticle oil which has a gorgeous subtle apricot scent. This soaks in quickly and really hydrates and conditions – a good rival to my beloved OPI Avoplex Cuticle Oil and around half the price!
I have applied this oil 1-2 times a day to keep my manicure conditioned and hydrated and this polish has been chip free for 5 days so far! I am really impressed! I will definitely check out some more Rimmel polishes in the future as for a cheap brand they have great staying power. Would definitely recommend.
