My First Glossy Box – The Unveiling

I was so excited to pick up my first ever Glossy Box (I had to collect from the Post Office as I was not at home when it was delivered!).

This month is the ‘Iconic Hollywood Edition’ and my box has the gorgeous Marilyn Monroe on the front.

I have taken photos of the whole unveiling experience as it was so beautifully wrapped and packaged and I wanted to share!

Now for the gorgeous goodies inside!

L – R:

Darphin – Exquisage Beauty Revealing Cream. This is a 5ml sample size. The 50ml full size costs £65. I love trying new moisturisors so will give a full review when I have tried this for a while. I love the packaging and it does smell nice 😊.

Nougat London – Soothing Bath Pearls. Included in this box is the Cherry Blossom bath pearls. Again, I love the packaging, very cute! I love baths so this is a perfect excuse to indulge and unwind. Will give a full review when I’ve tried these out.

POP Beauty – Kajal Eyeliner Pen. This is a full size product worth £6.50. It is a deep black colour perfect for creating smokey eye looks. It has a pencil liner at one end and a smudger at the other to blend. I was in need of a new pencil liner so this is a perfect and needed addition to my make up bag!

Lord and Berry – Lipstick Pencil in Kiss. This is a full size product from Lord and Berry in a classic red colour worth £10. This product is so gorgeous I have taken a couple of up close photos to share the wonder!

This lipstick is in a crayon/pencil form which can be used to both line and fill in the lips for a highly pigmented matte finish. I am new to lipstick having spent all my 20’s sticking firmly to lipgloss so this colour is very strong and a real ‘step outside the box’ for me – having said that I do absolutely adore the shade! I think it is a perfect shade for me – a bright red/orange colour. The consistency is very smooth and creamy which doesn’t dry out my lips. I am looking forward to trying new make up looks with this beauty!

Color Club – Nail Polish in shade Barely There. This is another full size product and worth £4.10. I have never heard of or used the Colour Club nail polish range before. My first impressions of the shade in the bottle is that it is not a shade I would naturally be drawn to – I prefer bolder and brighter colours on my nails.

Above is the colour after two coats on my nails. I found it tricky to apply as the brush is just a standard straight brush – I prefer the rounded fan brush of OPI and Nails Inc Polishes. After one coat this colour looked nice – if applied thinly this could be worn as a sheer nude colour. When I applied a second coat this did intensify the colour and I think this would be a wearable shade – just very different to what I would usually wear. Let me know what you think – I think this may be just a bit too pale and nude for me?

Overall I was impressed with the presentation and the products in my first Glossy Box. The value is incredible! Glossy Box costs £10 a month with £3.25 postage and packaging – the subscription can also be stopped at any time.

I received 5 products – 3 full size products and 2 new launches which are exciting to try out!

Let me know what you think.

Em xXx

  1. Ooh how exciting! Looks like you got some lovely things. I always found Gb to be great value. You are off to a good start with your first box! The packaging always feels so lovely too doesn’t it, a real treat.

  2. I really love the lip crayon. That is a gorgeous colour on you! You have made me ponder lip crayons too as I love lipstick but it gives me eczema so day to day wear is impossible. I might have to try a crayon to see if it makes a difference.

I actually really like the nude nail shade – it looks quite professional. Also it might be a good base for possible nail art or versions of a French manicure xx

    • Thanks Steph. The lip crayon is really creamy and hydrating and felt quite different to lipstick . I think I will give the nude colour another shot before writing it off as not for me 😉 xxxx
